All buttons seem free and movewith correct clicks. So i dont think it is stuck. However the pop up appears every 10-15 seconds stating it is either locked then unlocked etc. Its driving me mad, please help. Have tried to hold the menu button for 19-15 seconds but to no avail. For calibration purposes, oftentimes it's necessary, if not easier, to start from scratch and then adjust your settings to your liking. ViewSonic monitors have button.
When they say a Stuck Button
That doesn't necessarily mean that the plastic button that you push is stuck but that the spring of whatever type is used is no longer pulling the contacts apart and one or more switches stay permanently closed and run the item that they are controlling all the way to the Stop.
If these are Micro Switches you can replace them easily but if you have a Silicon Pad that acts as a spring to separate the contacts you'll need to replace the entire Switch block if it's separate to the rest of the monitor.
Generally speaking it's cheaper to replace the monitor and a lot less trouble as well.

[I am running a dual monitor setup, all problems mentioned pertain to the specified monitor only]
I have an old Samsung SyncMaster 205BW (I think that is the specific name) and I have an odd problem. I turned my computer on, walked away for a bit, came back to turn the monitors on and my screen is tinted completely red. The first time this problem occurred, I opened the menu to be surprised by the fact that the language settings had also been changed to German. I'm unsure how I fixed it the first time, but this second time I cannot open the menu at all. If I press any button on my monitor, except for the power button, either the menu will not appear or it will appear but become a still box image with no letters; and the power button no longer functions so using the power switch or unplugging is the only way to shut the monitor off (even turning the computer off doesn't send it into hibernate mode.) If I do not press any of the buttons, I can use the power button freely, but we still have the problem of the red tint.
The monitor is using a DVI-D (Single Link) cable. I switched out the cables to another DVI-D (Single Link), but the problem still persists. This leaves me to the single conclusion that my monitor has decided to finally die...or at least in this case 'bleed' out. Let me know what you guys can come up with. Thank you in advance.
